In collaboration with the Finance Director, the Costing Analyst has the primary responsibility of identifying and tracking cost out opportunities, managing the long term planning process, and identifying and assisting with process improvements throughout the organization. The Costing Analyst will be responsible for analyzing the organization’s financial results to identify areas for cost savings and/or avoidance, as well as guiding the organization through the implementation. Additionally, the Costing Analyst will be heavily involved in assisting with the preparation of board materials and other presentations. The role will also require significant collaboration with key stake holders from the services areas.
Demonstrated skills in the preparation and analysis of financial reports. Expertise in budgeting and reporting. Assist in designing and establishing appropriate systems to gather, record and present data. Assist in the preparation of proposals for funding; coordinate and review proposal budgets for consistency. Good organizational and time management skills. High degree of familiarity with and ability to use computerized accounting systems. Demonstrated ability to gain the respect of B&GCA staff and the ability to influence the adherence of accounting policies and practices. Anticipate needs of the projects and make suggestions to supervisor. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to exchange, clearly and concisely: ideas, facts, and/or technical information and guidance, in person, by telephone, fax or correspondence. Ability to apply problem solving and analytical skills to perform required responsibilities. Ability to independently assume responsibility for the overall needs of the accounting department.
Physical requirements include sight, sitting for four plus hours a day, stooping; skills essential for successful communications including speaking and writing.
