  • Overview

    Under the supervision of Assistant Director, Business Intelligence, the Data Analyst provides technical support as a member of the BI Team. The BI analyst provides reports and data analysis that are necessary for the Field Operations department to support and sustain its operational goals. The Business Analyst BI must have a basic understanding of the business environment and an interest in going beyond the obvious, delving into the source, the definition, philosophy, and foundational roots of a data element in order to create information reports.

    Responsibilities

    In collaboration with the Assistant Director, the data analyst assists in building an understanding of the business by continuously researching, collecting and providing findings regarding the latest strategies, tools, technologies, products, structures, customized documentation and other related information. From these findings, develops data reports which reveal patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends to support the BI function.

    • Collects and provides structured documentation and presentation of findings in all levels of data management.
    • Thorough individual development and collaboration with other staff designs document dashboards, alerts, and reports.
    • Records data in various databases.
    • The Business Analyst BI is accountable for providing data that is accurate, congruent and reliable, and ensures that the information is easily available to users for direct consumption or integration with other systems.

     

    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Provides technical expertise, guidance, and support of data collection and reporting methods utilized in the Field Operations department.
    • Checks the data source for omission and accuracy. Identifies the sources that are appropriate for specific types of information.
    • Relates and manipulates data from various sources to create a fuller picture.
    • Provides periodic data reports to include charts, tables, and other information illustrations
    • Provides input on work plans or reviews other work plan timelines and manages workflows to meet BI project timeframes.
    • Conducts analyses of functional business processes related to data management and participates in the development of data and technology solutions
    • Identifies and evaluates internal and external customers’ needs in order to provide appropriate data reporting solutions.
    • Reviews incoming data requests to evaluate timelines and execution process.
    • Ensures the selection of tools, frameworks and mechanisms for data analytics are appropriate for the project and that the data rendered is accurate.

     

    SUPERVISION EXERCISED

     

    No direct reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees. 

     

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Business Administration or specialized training/certification preferred, or equivalent work experience.
    • 2 or more year of Business Analysis, reporting, or related technical experience.

      abilities

    • Advanced abilities in data recording, reporting formats, managing online and offline databases.
    • Demonstrated highly advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of office products; particularly Excel. Power BI and SmartSheet knowledge is a plus.
    • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
    • Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.
