JOB SUMMARY

The Military & Outreach Services Intern will support the national office of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Military & Outreach Services department. This individual will primarily support Military & Outreach Service’s Military Youth of the Year Program and platform content on MyFuture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development of the Junior and Military Youth of the Year strategic plan, to support year-round program implementation.
  • Support with developing a “how to guide” for teens and advisors on preparing for Military Youth of the Year.
  • Develop a “how to guide” on how staff can engage teen recruitment and participation in BGCA programs.
  • Assist in the development of a National Military Youth of the Year tour/engagement calendar.
  • Support with creating a system that engages Military Youth of the Year throughout their Title year.
  • Assist with developing content for the Military Youth of the Year page on MyFuture.
  • Support with teen engagement at the 2024 Military Leadership Institute.
  • Assist with other projects and assignments as requested by the Director, Military Training & Programs.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in related field, minimum 2nd year standing.
  • Availability to work onsite in the Midtown Atlanta office.
  • Ability to work through Summer 2024.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Active member of BGCA’s Youth of the Year Speakers Bureau.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and external customers.
  • Must have good organizational skills, and the proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
