LOCATION: This position is onsite, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

 

We are seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Senior Director, Youth Development Programs and Innovation - Youth. In this position, you will be responsible for leading the strategic and operational aspects of our interdisciplinary program strategy for youth development. Your role will involve driving innovation in program design and delivery, as well as developing effective go-to-market strategies to promote the adoption of products aimed at enhancing the youth experience and fostering essential skill-building during program implementation.  The goal of this position is to design and implement programs, trainings, and supporting resources that drive positive youth development outcomes for youth ages 10-17 across the network of over 5000 Boys & Girls Clubs.

Responsibilities

We are in search of an exceptional Senior Director of Youth Development Programs and Innovation - Teens, someone who embodies visionary leadership coupled with an entrepreneurial spirit. The ideal candidate will excel in assembling and leading interdisciplinary teams, united by common values and guided by robust processes and procedures. They must be adept at taking calculated risks and demonstrate unwavering commitment to achieving excellence in program design and development.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Integrating Youth Development Basics and Program Quality - Review and evaluate research insights to integrate into program planning resources.

• Lead design and development of program experiences to create equitable access and opportunities for all young people that advances social and economic mobility.

 

Program Innovation Strategy- Oversee a program innovation strategy for program design, development, and delivery for teens ages 13-17 and the Club leaders who support teens. 

• Define, develop, and test program implementation models for distinct age groups: tweens ages 10-12 and, teens ages 13-17, representative of 5 core program areas: Health & Wellness, Sports & Recreation, Education, The Arts and Leadership & Service. 

 

Program Design and User Experience - Oversee the design and development of programming products that support the youth experience, lead innovations in program delivery that facilitate demand for interest-based programs.

• Define the program/product set incorporated into program implementation models and oversee the design and testing of those youth experience resources.

 

Program Adoption and Operations - Oversee and provide leadership to strategies and tactics that facilitate program adoption to increase the number of essential skill-building and career exploration experiences.

• Provide strategic oversight and leadership over the development and implementation of adoption framework, strategy, workflow and roadmap that can demonstrate Return On Investment (ROI) for youth development products and services.

 

Strategic Operations - Provide oversight and leadership to facilitate strategic alignment of the Youth Development Programs & Innovation Team.

• Provide direct supervision to a team of Directors with focus on building an inclusive and effective team culture to achieve results.

 

Provide leadership in the Youth Development department - Support operations of the Youth Development team

• Serve as a productive and collaborative member and leader of the Youth Development team. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelors’s degree required. Advanced degree(s) in related areas preferred.
• Strong background in youth development, change management and strategy execution is required.
• Experience leading teams in the execution of programs or strategies is required.
• Experience contributing in leading adoption strategies and tactics is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, including 1 year with supervisory responsibilities.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal internal office environment. Travel estimated at 20% (can be up to 4-7 days or more in a month, including weekends, depending upon scheduling requirements). The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to navigate areas of the country or abroad by using a map or other direction methods. Ability to travel by car, airplane or other modes of transportation required.
