LOCATION: 1275 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309

SCHEDULE: This position is onsite, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

HOURS: Flexible (Minimum 16-40 hrs)

DURATION: May to August 2024

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the VP Talent Management and DEI, The Human Resources-Talent Management Intern will support the national office of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Human Resources Department. This individual will primarily support BGCA’s end-to-end talent recruitment and onboarding process, along with supporting HR and DEI projects

 

What you will be doing: Assisting and leading key projects and initiatives that support the national office’s work in developing and deploying a Movement-wide strategic direction for the Boys & Girls Club network.

Responsibilities

Project Overview:
Under the supervision of the VP Talent Management and DEI, The Human Resources-Talent Management Intern will support the national office of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Human Resources Department. This individual will primarily support BGCA’s end-to-end talent recruitment and onboarding process, along with supporting HR and DEI projects.

Project Tasks:
List the specific tasks that need to be completed for the intern to achieve the project objectives.

  1. Task 1: Internship Program: Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist in broadening the inaugural Interns Ignite Program.
  2. Task 2: Diversity Equity and Inclusion: Work with VP Talent Management and DEI in   the 2nd half of the year’s activities and strategies for the Employee Resource Groups.
  3. Task 3: HR Life Cycle: Solid exposure to the lifecycle of an employee (recruiting/onboarding to offboarding).  Work with the TA team on implementing and launching Video Suite.  Video Studio transforms the talent experience by providing highly relevant and engaging video content throughout the candidate and employee journey.

Project Deliverables:
List the tangible outputs or outcomes that will result from the intern completing the project.

  1. Deliverable 1: A successful inaugural year of the interns Ignite Summer Scholar Experience.  Continuous improvement applied for the 2025 season.
  2. Deliverable 2: The ERGs will have their SharePoint pages built, and a tracking mechanism for their metrics and deliverables.
  3. Deliverable 3: Robust understanding of the HR cycle, with a focus on the talent acquisition process.

Qualifications

Education/Major: Candidates must be an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in nonprofit administration, business, communications, human resources or a related field.

 

What we’re looking for: An undergraduate or graduate student who is eager to work Human Resources or DEI to advance their skills.

 

Skills: Candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as be detail-oriented; demonstrate high standards of ethics, integrity, and eagerness to learn; and have an interest in working on special events for a non-profit organization. Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills are necessary.  Creative and innovative with a solutions focused mindset.
