Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Managing Director of Foundation Relations, the  Director of Foundation Relations will be instrumental in expanding BGCA's foundation fundraising efforts. This is more than a fundraising role; it’s an opportunity to cultivate partnerships that shape the trajectory of our impact on communities nationwide. If you are energized by the chance to diversify revenue streams through innovative funding mechanisms, this role offers you the chance to lead strategic and systematic outreach with foundations and philanthropic leaders who share our mission. 

In this role, you will: 

  • Strategically engage mid- and high-level foundations to meet ambitious annual goals. 
  • Craft and deliver compelling communications, proposals, and budgets that resonate with foundation partners. 
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to steward relationships, manage a national portfolio of foundation prospects, and exceed annual revenue targets. 
  • Build a strong pipeline for future partnerships, working alongside BGCA programs and local Clubs to develop collaborative funding initiatives. 

 

 

Qualifications

Who you are: 

  • Strategic Visionary: You’re a strategic thinker who can turn ideas into actionable plans that connect BGCA’s mission to funders’ goals. 
  • Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in collaborative settings, building meaningful relationships with foundation officers, high-net-worth donors, and internal teams. 
  • Results-Driven Approach: You bring a track record of successful resource development, especially with six-figure donations, and you’re skilled at managing a robust portfolio and pipeline. 
  • Exceptional Communicator: Whether written or spoken, your communication engages, informs, and inspires, connecting audiences to the mission and programs. 

 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA and CFRE preferred, but not required. 
  • Minimum 5 years, 10 years preferred in resource development with a strong track record in foundation or principal gift fundraising. 
  • Success in developing, cultivating, and closing major gifts of $100,000+. 
  • Understanding of foundation grant processes and regulations, with strong grant writing knowledge, capability to execute up to 15 grants per year start to finish. 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, with experience in complex service delivery and large-scale partnership development. 
  • High energy, motivation, and a creative approach to problem-solving. 
  • Willingness to travel 30% annually to include some weekends, to meet with foundations and other key stakeholders. 
  • This role is designated Remote.
