Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is seeking a visionary Director of Leadership Development to drive the design, development, and execution of Leadership Development Initiatives across the organization. The Director of Leadership Development plays a key role in enhancing the leadership capabilities of Club People Leaders, equipping them with the tools, strategies, and resources they need to create an impactful and supportive environment. By empowering Club Professionals, you will help drive the long-term success of the Boys & Girls Clubs Movement and ultimately make a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, and communities.

Responsibilities

As the Director of Leadership Development, you will: 

  • Develop Strategy: Design and deliver comprehensive leadership development programs that align with BGCA’s Competency Framework and Movement-wide goals. You will stay on top of leadership trends and work with Subject Matter Experts to continually evolve the content and design of our programs. 
  • Develop Talent: Facilitate engaging leadership learning experiences using a variety of methods aligned to BGCA’s Competency Framework and contribute to the development of a Coaching/Mentoring strategy for Club People Professionals. 
  • Build Organizational Capacity: Strengthen partnerships with professional associations and Management Resource Groups to increase internal engagement in leadership development programs. You will also be a champion for the Leadership Development Initiative, ensuring internal and external marketing across the Movement. 
  • Support Internal Capacity: Play an integral role in planning and executing BGCA’s Regional and National Leadership Conferences. You’ll work to ensure that Movement-wide priorities are seamlessly incorporated into leadership initiatives and continuously evaluate the impact of our programs.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Lead national projects or special assignments as needed. 
  • Promote BGCA’s mission-driven I-CARE values and integrate these beliefs into our culture. 
  • Prioritize child safety in every aspect of the work. 

Qualifications

We’re seeking a highly motivated leader who is eager to make an impact in the world of youth development and organizational leadership.

To thrive in this role, you should bring: 

  •  A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of experience in Organizational Development or Leadership Development, including extensive experience in training, curriculum development, and facilitating both in-person and virtual programs. 
  • Certification in Leadership Challenge and/or Grow Coaching preferred. 
  • Willingness to work in Hybrid role within a commutable distance to the Atlanta office. In office Tuesday and Wednesday of each week.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners. 
  • Business insight and the ability to apply that knowledge to drive strategic goals. 
  • Skilled in delivering clear and impactful communication, tailored to vast learning styles and audiences. 
  • Able to balance stakeholder needs and build strong, customer-centric relationships. 

Abilities 

  • High energy with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Ability to travel 30-40%% of the time, including weekends, to execute initiatives across the country.
