The Director, Life & Workforce Readiness Strategy & Implementation will play a pivotal role in leading BGCA’s workforce readiness efforts. Reporting to the Managing Director, National Workforce Readiness, the Director will oversee the execution and scaling of key initiatives that promote Life & Workforce Readiness across BGCA’s network of Clubs. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader with a passion for youth development to drive strategic initiatives and work collaboratively with stakeholders to build a future-ready workforce.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

Drive Strategy Through Training, Technical Assistance, and Partnerships

  • Design and implement sector partnerships and training systems to identify and address critical implementation challenges.
  • Share best practices and effective models in employer engagement and education/training partnerships.
  • Write compelling reports, analysis, and develop technical assistance products based on field insights.
  • Serve as a content expert on employer partnerships, scaling workforce collaborations, and fostering diversity-friendly, youth-friendly workplaces.
  • Support the roll-out of BGCA’s Workforce Adoption Strategy, support the design of career pathways to growth sectors, and Alumni Opportunity Network strategies to Boys & Girls Clubs.
  • Lead the development and launch of BGCA’s support the design of career pathways to growth sectors.

Cross Departmental Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to inform BGCA’s Life & Workforce Readiness Strategy.
  • Identify, analyze, and share best practices and learnings across BGCA to enhance program delivery and effectiveness.
  • Lead the development of toolkits based on youth and secondary research, labor market data, and field input.
  • Translate research findings and data into actionable products and presentations for diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate across BGCA departments to promote the implementation of workforce readiness strategies and initiatives.
  • Create written reports, memos, case studies, and tools to share with internal and external stakeholders.

Relationship Building and Project Management

  • Develop and manage projects from concept through to final implementation, including managing timelines, workflows, and resources.
  • Use project management tools to oversee complex projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and deliverables.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders to support workforce readiness efforts.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and strategic planning sessions for diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure the effective use of knowledge management and project management tools.
  • Oversee and support the scaling of workforce readiness strategies across multiple sites and departments.

Qualifications

Who You Are

 

  • Proven leadership in workforce development, positive youth development, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and full Microsoft Office Suite, with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead and influence senior-level decision-makers.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage competing priorities, and track progress across multiple workstreams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in workforce development, positive youth development, education, or a related field.
  • You have three plus years of  leadership/management experience, including experience in team and coalition building.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects and partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the youth development field, workforce readiness, and labor market trends.
