JOB SUMMARY

The Operations & Alignment Intern will support key growth initiatives within Operations & Alignment, with a focus on supporting and learning of Club Financial Services, and Innovative Operating Models (IOMs). This role offers exposure to national strategy development, financial modeling, and merger/acquisition planning efforts aligned to BGCA’s Future Ready growth agenda. The intern will contribute to scalable tools, templates, and analysis that directly support organizational growth, sustainability, and impact across the Movement.

 

INTERNSHIP TIMELINE: Must be available from June 2- August 5, 2026

LOCATION: Office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

COMPENSATION: 17.00/hr

 

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the internship, the intern will:

  1. Understand nonprofit growth strategy at a national scale
  2. Gain exposure to mergers & acquisitions in the social sector
  3. Learn how financial modeling informs strategic decision-making
  4. Experience cross-functional collaboration across Field Operations

Responsibilities

1. Growth Strategy & Innovative Operating Models (IOMs)

  • Assist in development of scalable, board-facing merger resource templates, including:
  • Market/Sector Trends summaries
  • Organizational Profile one-pagers
  • Executive Summary briefs
  • Strategic Options comparisons (Merger vs. Standalone)
  • Visual value proposition materials (Before vs. After scenarios)
  • Conduct research on nonprofit merger trends and sector benchmarks
  • Assist in building reusable frameworks that pull existing organizational data where applicable

2. Club Financial Services & Sustainability Strategy

  •  Support analysis financial models and sustainability metrics
  • Assist in development of financial templates for as needed
  • Help organize and structure financial insights into executive-ready summaries
  • Contribute to development of visual dashboards and simplified financial storytelling

3. Other Activities

  • Conduct light market mapping research (demographic, community need, competitive landscape)

Qualifications

Education/Major:

  • Pursuing a business administration degree or equivalent.

Skills:

  • Applicants should demonstrate interest in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and an operations centric career. Experience using Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel. A track record of reliability, strong teamwork, and attention to detail. Excellent analytic, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage time appropriately
