LOCATION: This position is on-site, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

COMPENSATION: $30-$35/hr

 

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Temporary Accountant to support our accounting team during a busy period. This role will assist with core accounting functions, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries
  • Record daily financial transactions in the accounting system
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain and update accounting records and system data
  • Support general ledger activities and ensure accuracy of financial information
  • Review financial data for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
  • Help prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures
  • Support audits by gathering and organizing required documentation
  • Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Perform other ad hoc accounting tasks and projects as assigned

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field required
  • 2–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
