LOCATION: REMOTE

COMPENSATION: $40-$45/hr.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Youth Activations, the director of Youth Development will provide interim operational leadership and full-time execution support for Youth of the Year during a temporary staffing gap. This role ensures continuity across state, regional, and national YOY events, including event logistics, scholarship administration, travel coordination, compliance tracking, and post-event follow-up during a high-volume program season.  This position manages multiple complex and concurrent timelines, supports cross-functional collaboration, and plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and consistency across all Youth of the Year experiences. 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Coordinate and execute logistics for state, regional & national Youth of the Year events, including lodging, travel, materials, awards, and judge packet preparation, ensuring seamless and timely event delivery. 
  • Manage high-volume travel coordination across multiple program milestones, including regional events, Keystone Conference, Summit for America’s Youth (SAY), National Conference, and Speaker’s Bureau engagements. 
  • Oversee scholarship and award administration processes, including preparation and distribution of Letters of Agreement (LOAs), and tracking required documentation. 
  • Develop, distribute, and track post-selection “Next Steps” communications to Clubs and stakeholders following state, regional, and national events, ensuring clarity of expectations, deadlines, and required submissions. 
  • Monitor submission deadlines and program documentation, proactively identifying risks and ensuring timely completion of all deliverables. 
  • Maintain and manage detailed program trackers across multiple workstreams, including events, travel, lodging, bios, photos, and scholarships, ensuring accuracy. 
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with internal departments, including Special Events, Resource DevelopmentGovernment Relations and Marketing, to ensure alignment and effective execution across all program components. 
  • Support judging and selection processes by preparing materials, tracking shipments, and ensuring readiness across all stages of events. 
  • Provide operational support for post-event follow-up activities, including award distribution, scholarship tracking, and stakeholder communication. 
  • Maintain continuity of program operations across multiple concurrent state and regional events under compressed timelines and high-volume workload conditions. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree, in education, youth developmentsociology, psychology, public health, or related field. 
  • 3-5+ years of experience in high-volume program operations, nonprofit coordination, event logistics, or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and tracking. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations and next steps to diverse stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and proactively problem-solve. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple teams and managing competing priorities. 
  • Expertise in positive youth development, high-quality youth programming and youth outreach. 
  • Proven track record of successful project management, event planning or strategic execution of high-priority initiatives. 

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This is a remote position with the expectation of full-time availability during the duration of the contract. 
  • Work may require extended hours during peak program periods to meet deadlines and support concurrent event
