LOCATION- Atlanta, Ga (In office Tuesday & Wednesday- WFH Mon, Thur, & Fr.)

COMPENSATION- $17.00/hr

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Board Engagement Intern will support the national office of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Resource Development’s Board Engagement Team. This individual will report to the Director of Board Engagement and collaborate with the Board Engagement Team, Regional Development Officers (RDOs), and Vice President, Individual & Regional Development, among others. The role will primarily support BGCA’s board engagement initiatives for all Boards (Board of Governors, Trustees and Ambassadors) including strategy, special projects, and day-to-day operations. Due to the nature of this role, much of the information is considered confidential and will require the intern to be trusted to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Support Board communications strategies including:

  • Board newsletters
  • Social media marketing strategies
  • Data/reporting for communications strategies
  • Content creation for events and meetings
  • LinkedIn group content creation

Support general Board initiatives including, but not limited to:

  • Help with dashboards and rosters utilizing Salesforce data
  • Assist with data updates and maintenance in Salesforce
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting (KPIs and scorecards)

Board onboarding and offboarding:

  • Support new Board member onboarding processes
  • Support Board member offboarding processes
  • Conduct prospect research
  • Support with administrative tasks including project management, board email accounts, and more
  • Ideate and share Board management, engagement strategies, and efficiencies
  • Support quarterly meetings and events preparations
  • Assist with file organization strategies
  • Support donor stewardship and cultivation via activities such as birthday cards, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What's required of you:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master's degree in related field, minimum 2nd year standing.
  • Availability to work onsite in the Midtown Atlanta office Tuesday and/or Wednesday each week (Monday, Thursday, and Friday are remote workdays unless needed in-office for an in-person initiative.)
  • Ability to work through at least Spring 2027 with interest in continuing the internship through graduation if mutually agreeable.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Highly responsive communicator via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone.
  • Avid ability to self-start and stay on deadline without reminders from supervisor.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and external customers.
  • Must have good organizational skills, proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to work for prolonged periods at high levels of activity; managing multiple tasks with varying deadlines; ability to sit for more than four hours per day; reading comprehension and listening.
  • Compliance with current all onsite work safety protocols and BGCA’s ICARE Values.

Additional Preferences:

  • Previous experience with Canva, MailChimp (or other email marketing solution), Salesforce, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
  • Previous internship or nonprofit experience
