LOCATION: This position is on-site, office-based in Atlanta, GA (hybrid model - 3 days remote / 2 days in office- Tuesday & Wednesday)

 

About the Role

Under the supervision of the Sr Philanthropy Officerthe Manager of Individual Philanthropy and Stewardship, has the responsibility for leading the Employee Giving Campaign, developing the mid-level giving program, and executing donor stewardship and engagement activities to maximize individual philanthropic contributionsThis position supports the Individual Giving team in coordinating logistics for salon and curated events, providing administrative and operational support to advance team priorities and ensure seamless day-to-day execution, oversee the fulfillment of Giving Society materials, and to ensure that donors receive exceptional stewardship that deepens their connection to BGCA's mission.  

This is unique opportunity to build on the strong foundation of the Employee Giving Campaign (EGC) by launching a new peer-to-peer component and leveraging the EGC model in close collaboration with our Corporate team to stand up internal P2P employee campaigns that complement corporate contributions. The Manager will identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward portfolio of mid-level donors to deepen donor engagement with the movement, upgrade donors, and contribute to growing the major gifts pipeline. This position will conduct prospect research, conduct data hygiene and database administration, and collaborate across lines of business to bring innovative projects to scale. 

The ideal candidate will reside within driving distance of the Atlanta headquarters and work on-site two days per week. This person will thrive in a dynamic work environment that requires flexibility and initiative on how tasks are approached and prioritized, embracing the challenges of an ever-changing fundraising landscape and the needs of a growing philanthropic effort

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

 EMPLOYEE GIVING CAMPAIGN 

  • Manage the Employee Giving Campaign (EGC), and in collaboration with the Senior Philanthropy Officerlead the design, launch, and management of a new peer-to-peer component to increase revenue and employee engagement. 
  • Implement gamification strategies such as leaderboards, fundraising thermometers, and reward/recognition programs to drive participation and friendly competition. 
  • Develop campaign strategy, goals, timeline, and promotional plan for peer-to-peer participation. 
  • Research and recommend appropriate peer-to-peer fundraising platforms and technology solutions. 
  • Track campaign performance metrics, analyze results – adjust plans along the way as appropriate, and provide regular progress updates to leadership. 
  • Recruit, train, and support employee fundraising ambassadors, providing tools, templates, and resources for success. 
  • In close collaboration with Corporate and Marketing teams, create engaging corporate employee giving and peer-to-peer fundraising campaign materials including fundraising page templates, social media graphics, email templates, and storytelling guides.

 

MID-LEVEL DONOR FUNDRAISING 

  • Actively identify and manage new leads and manage a mid-level donor portfolio, conducting regular touchpoints to deepen donor relationships, identify upgrade opportunities, and meet annual revenue goals. 
  • Adhere to weekly and monthly goals to execute meaningful contacts with donors in the portfolio, including personal visits, phone calls, emails, and personal notes.  

 

DONOR STEWARDSHIP & ENGAGEMENT 

  • Develop and implement comprehensive stewardship strategies for individual donors across all giving levels, ensuring timely and meaningful touchpoints throughout the donor journey and recording mass outreach activities into the donor database. 
  • In close partnership with Senior Philanthropy Officer, develop and maintain a stewardship communications calendar to ensure consistent touchpoints throughout the year – leveraging communication outputs from across the organization, coordinating with other LOB’s, and making the calendar shareable to other teams. 
  • Partner with the Director of Pipeline Management to operationalize stewardship materials and assets. 
  • Partner with Marketing and RD Communications to ensure donor-facing materials reflect compelling storytelling and mission impact. 
  • Support donor stewardship and recognition – including the fulfillment of Giving Society materials, personalized impact reports, thank you communications, anniversary acknowledgments, and milestone recognition. 
  • Monitor donor engagement metrics and provide recommendations for improving retention rates and donor lifetime value. 
  • Provide general administrative support to the Individual Giving team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and execution of stewardship activities.

 

OPERATIONS & DATA MANAGEMENT/REPORTING 

  • Provide fundraising database hygiene management on behalf of the Individual Giving team, including the submission of cases for portfolio reassignment and ensuring all operational policies are followed. 
  • Be a resource to the Individual Giving team on optimizing database utilization and application of best practicesidentifying areas of improvement in database processes and donor relations. 
  • Provide standard operating procedures for daily use of database, and its application to support integrated, donor centric fundraising activities.  
  • Generate reports on stewardship activities, KPI’s, donor engagement metrics, event participation, and campaign performance. 
  • Interface with acknowledgement, writing and executive scheduling request processes and those teams to support donor/funder relationships on behalf of the individual Giving team. 
  • Conduct prospect research to identify donor upgrade opportunities and segment audiences for targeted communications. 
     

SPECIAL EVENT SUPPORT & LOGISTICS 

  • Provide comprehensive logistical support for donor cultivation and stewardship events, including site visits, salon events, and other donor gatherings. 
  • Create special event materials such as programs, name tags, signage, and presentation content. 
  • Manage day-of-event logistics, including setup, registration, volunteer coordination, and troubleshooting. 
  • Lead post-event follow-up including team debrief, thank you communications, and data capture. 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Assist in creating, editing, formatting, and submitting proposals, stewardship reports, and request letters. 
  • Provide general administrative support – as needed to the Senior Philanthropy Officer, including preparing documents and presentations, and reports. 
  • Work as a productive member of the Resource Development team and with other departments of the national BGCA staff. 
  • Work collaboratively with Directors of Philanthropy, Regional Development Officers, and other Resource Development team members to support integrated fundraising strategies. 
  • Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities. 
  • Track and ensure appropriate classification of BGCA’s Combined Federal Campaign – federal employee charitable giving program. 
  • Demonstrate BGCA mission driven I*CARE values and integrate these beliefs into our environment and ways of working. 
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures as described in BGCA’s Employee HandbookEthics Policy and elsewhere. 

 

SUPERVISION EXERCISED 

No direct Reports Will work in close collaboration with the National Vice President, Development, Senior Philanthropy Officer, Directors of Philanthropy, and RDO’s.  May monitor and coordinate the work of administrative staff, temporary employees and student interns

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or education/experience equivalency.    
  • Minimum of 2 years demonstrated successful experience in nonprofit fundraising  
  • Experience with fundraising databases, preferably NPSP, is a must

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. 
  • Demonstrated expertise with fundraising tools and technologies. 
  • Demonstrated relationship building skills and customer service orientation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; knowledge of successful individual giving fundraising practices; intermediate Microsoft Word,), research and spreadsheet skills.  
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines. 
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and willingness to develop innovative approaches to donor engagement. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Based at BGCA Atlanta headquarters with a hybrid work environment offering flexibility for remote work and in-office collaboration.  
  • Some travel may be required for events, site visits, or training opportunities (estimated at 5-10%) 
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required for donor events and campaign activities. 

 

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $84,000 to $94,000. BGCA takes into consideration a combination of a candidate’s education, training and experience, as well as the position’s scope and complexity, the discretion and latitude required for the role and other external and internal data when establishing a salary level.
