At Boys & Girls Clubs of America, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential. For more than 160 years, we've partnered with local Clubs, communities, volunteers, and corporate supporters to create safe places where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

Under the direction of the Vice President, Data Strategy, Analytics & Learning, the Senior Business Systems Leader, Blue Door Academy leads technology strategy, architecture, and operations for Blue Door Academy. The role holds decision authority for division-level technical design, including systems architecture, tooling selection, and implementation approach, and operates within national platform governance, security standards, and vendor architecture review maintained by the Technology division. The role translates stakeholder requirements and CEO-level success metrics into working systems at the pace the pilot requires and builds the technical foundation for national scale.

Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Architecture

  • Owns the technology roadmap for Blue Door Academy in alignment with pilot success metrics and national expansion plans.
  • Makes division-level architecture, platform, and tooling decisions in consultation with BGCA Technology, aligning direction with the national platform strategy. Stakeholders submit requirements and priorities; design authority rests with this role.
  • Establishes technical standards, documentation practices, and deployment patterns that scale across Academy sites.
  • Evaluates proposed tools and integrations against requirements before adoption and recommends build or buy accordingly.

Systems Administration & Technical Operations

  • Serves as the senior technical resource for Blue Door Academy technology systems.
  • Directs the configuration, maintenance, and support of enrollment, registration, attendance, payment, and parent engagement platforms, including the Blue Door Academy package for MyClubHub.
  • Ensures system stability, performance, and data accuracy across all Academy locations.

  • Resolves technical issues while minimizing disruption to Club operations.

Implementation & Scaling

  • Leads technical implementation for new Blue Door Academy sites, including programs, pricing, schedules, locations, and enrollment workflows.
  • Develops implementation playbooks, standard operating procedures, timelines, and validation standards that enable consistent deployment at scale.
  • Partners with local organizations through launch, testing, and stabilization.

Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Partners with the Data Warehouse and Power BI teams to design and maintain dashboards monitoring Academy performance indicators: enrollment, attendance, capacity utilization, staffing ratios, reach, relevancy, and revenue.
  • Develops interim division-level reporting where pilot timelines require.
  • Delivers regular reporting to local organizations and national leadership to support decision-making.
  • Sets and enforces data integrity standards across Academy systems.

AI, Automation & Innovation

  • Leads AI, chatbot, and automation initiatives, including parent-facing tools and internal knowledge systems.
  • Identifies and automates repetitive processes to reduce administrative burden at sites.
  • Continuously evaluates workflows and system performance using user feedback and operational data, and recommends enhancements that improve the family experience and operational efficiency.
  • Pilots emerging technology against measurable results before scaling.

Vendor & Cross-Functional Management

  • Aligns division technology direction with BGCA Technology's national platform strategy, adopting national systems and standards wherever they meet Academy requirements.
  • Manages technology vendor relationships and coordinates resolutions for platform issues.
  • Partners with Operations, Product Management, Technology, Finance, Marketing, and Talent Development. Communicates system capabilities, constraints, and enhancement opportunities.
  • Coordinates multiple technology initiatives simultaneously; tracks milestones, deliverables, and timelines; escalates risks proactively with recommended solutions.
  • Escalates to the Principal Officer when a decision affects budget, vendor contracts, or national platform governance.

User Enablement & Support

  • Designs a scalable support model for Academy staff and local organizations, including documentation, training resources, office hours, and escalation tiers.
  • Provides direct technical support to Academy staff and local organizations, serving as a trusted advisor for Clubs navigating system functionality and operational processes.
  • Responds to technical inquiries and resolves issues in a timely, customer-focused manner.
  • Delivers virtual and in-person training, and supports ongoing learning through office hours, webinars, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
